Motivation to Design:
I added these stackable platforms to my home gym for finer angle adjustments while doing body-weight exercises. They have the most useless, tiny rubber feet that do not provide enough friction to resist lateral forces on carpet or hard flooring. I wanted to use them in a carpeted area, so I needed a solution.
Design Goals:
Attach to the feet of the existing platform.
Prevent the platform from sliding across carpet if lateral forces are applied.
At least as portable as the existing platforms.
Relevant Interfaces:
The top cylinder is slightly larger than the inner diameter of the platform’s existing rubber feet. This gives a tight friction fit that holds the cleats in place while moving the platform around. The flat circular area around it supports the rubber feet that expand out when the platforms bear weight.
The bottom cones dig into carpet, and effectively resist lateral forces applied through the platform.
